Individual Therapy For Adults

What You Can Expect:

In our sessions, you can expect a warm, supportive environment where your voice is heard, and your experiences are validated. I do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach, therefore, you will be actively participating in identifying objectives, choosing interventions, directing the sessions, and measuring progress. We will work at your pace, focusing on your goals and aspirations. Together, we will uncover patterns, explore new perspectives, and create a path towards positive, lasting change.

Modalities and Interventions I Use:

Because I don’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach to counseling, I have directed my learning and practice towards various modalities throughout my career. I take a person centered, positive psychology approach within counseling and believe each person is unique and complex due to social learning, past and current experiences, genetics, personality, and so on.

When working with me, you can expect the following modalities and interventions to be utilized or interwoven throughout your counseling sessions to meet your specific therapeutic needs:

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

ART is an innovative and evidence-based form of psychotherapy designed to help individuals rapidly process and resolve traumatic memories and other distressing experiences. ART utilizes a combination of techniques including rapid eye movements (similar to those used in EMDR therapy), imagery, and other cognitive approaches to facilitate the reprocessing of traumatic memories. These techniques aim to help clients change the way they react to memories and current circumstances and reduce the emotional intensity associated with them. Learn More About ART Here!

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a powerful intervention used to treat trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It involves guided eye movements that help clients process and integrate traumatic memories, reducing their emotional impact.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

SFBT is a goal-oriented approach that emphasizes finding solutions in the present and exploring hopes for the future. It is particularly useful for clients seeking quick and effective strategies to address specific problems.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT is designed to help individuals who experience intense emotions and struggle with self-regulation. It combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices to promote emotional stability, improve relationships, and enhance overall well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a highly effective, evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. This modality helps clients develop healthier thinking patterns and coping strategies to manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.

Comprehensive Energy Psychology (CEP)

CEP recognizes the powerful connection between the mind and body. CEP (also known as cognitive somatic practices) combines cognitive interventions with somatic techniques that influence the human bio-energy systems (i.e., neuroception, meridians, chakras, and biofields).

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

MBSR integrates mindfulness and meditation to help clients manage stress, anxiety, and chronic pain. This modality encourages a present-moment awareness and fosters a compassionate, non-judgmental attitude towards oneself and one’s experiences. I interweave concepts and skills from Ericksonian Hypnotherapy within this modality.

Person-Centered Therapy

Person-centered therapy is a non-directive approach that emphasizes the client’s capacity for self-healing and personal growth. It provides a supportive and empathetic environment where clients feel understood and valued.

Positive Psychology

Positive Psychology focuses on strengths instead of weaknesses and building the good in life instead of repairing the bad. The goal is to build a “great” life rather than simply overcome challenges and suffering.
